DofE
Go back to :HomeBournemouth Explorers actively take part in the Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) scheme. When an Explorer joins us we give them the usual joining forms and the DofE forms giving them the option of immediate start in to the scheme. Gizmo who is our DofE Leader and Assessor offers monthly dedicated DofE meets which happens on the last Friday of every month. We also are now fully setup with eDofE which essentially replaces the log book normally associated with DofE scheme (login to eDofe).
This part of the site is dedicated in giving information about DofE to parents and information to Bournemouth participants. DofE is broken into three stages Bronze Silver and Gold we aim to have all participants complete Bronze and start on there Silver by the time they turn 18 and leave Explorers. Each stage consists of sections (click a section below for more information)
| Volunteer | Physical | Skill | Expedition | Residential |
Each section must be carried out for a set period of time

Assessed expeditions are done after two compulsory training sessions and practice walk. The expedition must be fully documented (Route Card, Menu Plan and an Aim) and meet the 20 conditions of doing the DofE Expedition.
There is a lot of resources available to you as a participant all of which can help you complete your DofE Bronze and Silver please check the downloads section out. You may also have questions about DofE I have tried putting FAQ section together which may contain answers to your questions from things about DofE to stuff about filling in a route card.
